About Me
.

Who Am I:

My name is Michael Tsatsaronis. I was born on November 30, 1978 in Athens, Greece from greek parents both of which are from Chios, an island in eastern Greece. At the age of 3 we left for Kenya where my father was living since 1956 working originally as a mechanic in Tanzania and later as a Mining Engineer at gem mines. In 1992 I returned with my mother to Greece leaving my father in Kenya where we continued to go back every summer holidays.

From Primary School to University:

Primary Schools
As mentioned before I grew up abroad, in Kenya. My first school though was not in Kenya but in Arusha, Tanzania. It was, at that time the only somewhat Greek school in the area (since we lived very close to the Kenyan - Tanzanian borders almost just under Mt. Kilimanjaro). It was called St Constantines School. I only stayed there for 3 years. I left that school and went to a British school in central Kenya at a town called Gil Gil. My years at Pembroke House School were, without doubt, my some of my most active years. I always took up Horseriding and Shooting, among others, as extracurricular activities. My first experience with computers was also at Pembroke House since I was always at the "Computer Club" where we worked on some BBC Computers as they were called. At Pembroke I also took Latin and French, the latter I continued even through high school, though I never managed to complete it and it is one of my goals to complete it some time in the near future. Both my primary schools were boarding schools.

High School
When I completed Pembroke House I was to continue high school in Kenya, but plans changed. My father thought it was a good opportunity to return to Greece. So I came to Greece where I attended TASIS Hellenic intenational School. TASIS was also an English speaking school but it was also the first school where I had "proper" lessons in the Greek language. My A-Levels were on Mathematics, Physics and Economics but though I did attend the examination I was not intenting to go to an English University. It was a last minute "change-of-mind" actually. So I gave the Panhellenic Examinations (a respective examination to the A-Levels) for a chance at a Greek University.

University (Technological Educational Institute)
After my first Panhellenic examination I had passed at a Petroleum Engineer's University at Kavala's Technological Educational Institute but since it wasn't what I wanted I tried again. Let me note here that in the greek systemI the university department that you will go to is determined in a way by your Panhellenic exam grades. Therefore I tried again and I passed at the Technological Educational Institute of Larissa as a Telecommunication and IT Technician, a department that I then thought was ideal for me, but I later discovered that programming was not for me. I seem to prefer telecommunications and more practical work more than programmining.

At the moment:

At the moment I am working at a company in Athens as a Computer & Network Technician and as a Graphic Designer (in a way). I'm also still trying to finish my University though.

Hobbies:

My hobbies are mainly anything that has to do with technology, mainly based on computers and cars. I always say there's nothing better than the smell of burning rubber in the morning :)

I also like travelling a lot (though I don't get the chance very often), especially when I get to drive.
